Privacy

Last updated October 21, 2026. In plain language: what we collect, why, and how to have it deleted. Dufferin Weekend is a small independent site run by one person in Dufferin County, Ontario. We follow the principles of Canada's federal private-sector privacy law (PIPEDA): collect only what we need, use it only for the reason we asked, keep it only as long as needed, and let you see or delete it.

What we collect

Why we collect it

Only to review your submission and follow up with you about it, or to pass your enquiry on when you ask us to. We don't sell or rent your details, we don't use them for advertising, and we don't add you to a mailing list unless you tick a box asking for that.

Who sees it

Only the site owner (and anyone helping run the site on the owner's behalf). Your email and phone number are never published. When a submission is approved, only the public details you gave for it (for example, an event's name, date and place) are shown on the site.

Where it is stored

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, and form submissions are stored in a Cloudflare database. Data may be processed in Cloudflare's network, including outside Canada.

How long we keep it

Personal details (names, emails, phone numbers and contact notes) are deleted automatically 12 months after you send them. Published content, such as an approved event or business listing, can stay on the site, but your contact details attached to it are removed.

Your choices

To see what we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted sooner, email [email protected]. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
